I just got some last weekend. Is there more than one color? I thought I saw some that were all black at a previous auction. I wonder if I some be able to get to have breeding colony.

Not sure on the color morphs but have seen 2 shell patterns. One smooth and one with grooves.

They might be all black because the shell is small. I haven't seen adults with any other color patterns, but that doesn't mean they don't exist or can't be developed with a keen eye and selective breeding.

I agreed usually when a species is kept in large enough numbers for a long period of time, mutations start to appear.

I thought assassin snails were more recent of a find.

They are, but they also have a relatively fast generation time, which works in the breeder's favor.
