Donate to MAAH auction or send back?

  1. Bought a couple of "Calvus Spawning Caves" from Ken's fish. The image on the website looked like a wee triangular stone tent. These are made by hand from some sort of clay.

What I got however, looked like the wee tent fell over after molding it and then got sat on before it got baked. It is pinched in the center.

I know Calvuses/Compressiceps can squeeze a lot but even my little adults would never fit in this safely.

I complained to Ken and he said I can send back for a refund ($4.95 each) but shipping is on me... so not much savings.

Should I bring to the MAAH auction on Saturday? They would be fine for wee fry but I would fear putting them into a tank where a big fish could get his head stuck. If members think these are unsafe I will send back.

I think sending back is the best bet. Just my opinion, you can do which ever feels right to you.

Calvus won't get stuck in there. They will be fine.
  4. I'l bring them to MAAH meeting and do a informal survey.
