I just bought a starter culture. Does anyone have some helpful tips?

There is not lots of information on the internet. Or at least when I read it seems vague.

My culture loves to eat hair algae, Java moss or a couple of one inch square pieces of lettuce. I always thought they were hard to get going but they have been easy to keep so far. I do not use a filter but have an air stone going at a medium rate.

I put some in 20 extra tall with mature aquarium water. I added hortwort and several clumps of hair algae. I put some in a smaller bowl as back.

They are dark brown and half the size adult brine shrimp.

They are from Goliath Farms. The owner did a talk about native livebearers of the U.S. for the CLS meeting. They are smaller than ones that I have seen from local river. They looked amorous when dumped into the new water. It sounds like they love mulberry leaves but it will be a while before I have available.

I am seeing babies now and a bunch of berried females. They take a long time to hatch and grow up.
