I have a water lily in my 55gal that I've had for a couple of years and it's always remained smaller in size, but in the last few months it's exploded in size. It has about 9 or 10 pads 8 or 9 inches in diameter and they cover two thirds of the top of the tank. I want to pull it out of the tank and put in a pot and transfer it to another tank for know until I can get it outside when it warms. Can I trim most of the longer stems leaving a few of the shorter ones without killing it ?
