Has anyone in the club have any experience with these fish?
I have kept elassoma okeefenokee once. Primarily live foods only and they are small so microworms and other similar sized foods. Occasionally black worms but they are kinds big for them so it takes the fish awhile to eat them.
What's your opinion of them? A fish worth getting?
They are very cool. I will definitely try them again some day, worth getting, colored up males are gorgeous
They do not need large tank. They prefer softer water. The males are stunning but small. They do tend to hide but worth getting.
Where can you get them?
There is a guy that occasionally sells them on aquabid
I have a group in a 15 that I bought off Aquabid. Been happy watching them grow.
They're really neat fish, I had them at one point, you may want to check the legality, the DNR is funny about some of these species.
I think all but the most northerly Species are fine
