    Hey all,

Starting a new 20g long riparium tank when I move to my new apartment in 2 weeks... looking for tips on plants as well as riparium planter substrate.

Looking at both houseplants and emersed aquatic plants for flora... does anyone have any preferred species?

As for substrate, I'm thinking I should keep it pretty simple. Thinking a mix of gravel, filter sponge, lava rock and maybe some fluorite or ecocomplete. I'd use this mixture in some shower caddies and terra cotta pots, with both emersed growth and aquatic growth. Any thoughts?

I like eleocharis, anubias, and cryptocorynes, they look good and do well for me emersed or semi emersed and there's a lot of good varieties at our monthly auction.

What about hydroponic balls for substrate?
