Sean earned his BS in Biology from Northland College and has used it in various unexpected ways as his career has meandered through the pet industry.

He has worked at a retail level selling fish and other pets and supplies at Wal-Mart. He worked as a delivery driver for Apet, delivering fish to Wal-Marts and pet stores. He was one half of Madtown Aquaculture, selling at swaps and conventions. He spent time at Alpha Aquaculture learning the production side of the business. Most recently he worked at Rose Innovations working on their goldfish breeding project and managing their ponds and stream. In 2022 he attended the International Waterlily & Water Gardeners Society Annual Symposium in Naples, FL.

On the hobby side, Sean has bred over 60 species of fish and has achieved master breeder status in the Madison Area Aquatic Hobbyists (MAAH). He has also grown many aquatic plants and was GARP champion in its inaugural season. He is an active member of both MAAH and the Milwaukee Aquarium Society.
